VACANCY FOR A PURCHASING AND STORES OFFICER (Reference Code: 350419)

 
THE POSITION
 
The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics has a vacancy for a Purchasing and Store Officer to work in its Finance and Administration Department in the Supplies Office. 
 
The successful candidate will assist with the provision of centralised cost effective purchasing and stores services for all departments of the Institute and ensure the continuity of supplies and stock management of common consumables. 
 
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or other related field; and
  • A minimum of 2 years of job-related experience
  • Very good command of the Greek and English languages
  • Computer skills
  • Report writing skills 
 
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Relevant experience in the field of Health and/or Research and/or Education 
  • Knowledge of the legal framework (Laws and Regulations) on public procurement procedures and related issues and relevant experience.

VACANCY FOR SENIOR SCIENTIST/DEPARTMENT HEAD

THE POSITION
 
The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics is looking for a full time Senior Scientist/Department Head in its Electron Microscopy & Molecular Pathology Department. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
 
The suitable candidate will head the department and provide scientific and technical leadership and assume full responsibility in the management, design and conduct of research programs, clinical laboratory services and educational programs. The above position is combined with a faculty position at the level of Associate Professor or Professor at the Cyprus School of Molecular Medicine (CSMM), the post-graduate School of the Institute.
 
He/she will be accountable to the Chief Executive Medical Director and will be a member of the Institute’s Scientific Council. 
 
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
 
  • PhD in any Biological Science, Chemistry or closely related field; and
  • A minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience in the fields of Molecular Pathology and cancer; and 
  • Proven ability to design and carry out original and independent research projects that result in publication; and
  • Supervisory experience; and
  • Command of the Greek and/or Turkish and English languages
 
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Experience in cancer genetics
