The Association of Friends of the Cyprus Foundation for Muscular Dystrophy Research was established in 1996. Its objectives are:

1. The support and further promotion of the work of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics.

2. The promotion of the welfare of the Institute’s patients and their families.

The Association organizes charity cultural events as well as informative lectures, in collaboration with the Institute, in order to promote and fulfill its objectives. The current chairman of the Association is Mrs Aleca Demetriadou.
