A critical function of the virology group is the training of junior researchers, which is essential to both the function of the research group and to develop the next generation of scientists. We have had several undergraduates and Master’s stuidents graduate after completing projects from our lab at the University of Sussex (UK), with many of these contributing to publications. We currently have one PhD student in the group based at the University of Sussex, and another PhD student associated with our group at Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
In addition to the mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate students in an array of cell and molecular biology techniques, Dr Morgan has extensively lectured in a variety of subjects, including virology, cancer biology and cell biology. He gained a postgraduate qualification in teaching (PGCertHE, UK) in 2024.
