Summary
Cancer Immunotherapy has gained major interest these last years, mainly after the first report of the CD19 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) clinical study. However, although fascinating, the CAR solution is only the tip of the iceberg and alternative immunotherapies are being developed and tested. Our department has been interested in this topic for now more than 20 years, and I will present some of the technologies to the development of which we have contributed.

Short Biography of the Speaker

Sébastien Wälchli holds an MSc in bacterial genetics from the University of Geneva and a PhD in Molecular Biology from a University/Industry program (University of Geneva and Ares Serono). He then performed a postdoc in Cell Biology in Oslo and started his career as a researcher in Immunotherapy 12 years ago. He is now group leader at the Translational Research Unit of the Department of Cellular Therapy at Oslo University Hospital. He is co-author of more than 70 peer-reviewed articles, co-inventor of 15 patents and co-founder of a biotech company (Zelluna Immunotherapy, est. 2016).
