Innovative Medicines Initiative Information Meeting

We cordially invite you to the first Innovative Medicines Initiative Information Day in Cyprus that will take place on Tuesday July 3rd, at the Amphitheatre of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (6 International Airport Avenue Nicosia) from 2.00 – 5.00 p.m.

The Minister of Health Dr Stavros Malas, will address the event.

The info meeting is specially addressed to interested parties from the pharmaceutical industry, academia, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), patient organizations and regulatory agencies.

The main aim of the event is the establishment of an IMI network in Cyprus, the promotion of current and future IMI calls in the region as well as to overcome challenges for Cyprus to participate in IMI projects.

The Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) is Europe’s largest public-private initiative aiming to speed up the development of better and safer medicines for patients. With a €2 billion euro budget, IMI supports collaborative research projects and builds networks of industrial and academic experts in Europe that will boost innovation in healthcare. IMI is a joint undertaking between the European Union and the pharmaceutical industry association EFPIA. The European Union contributes €1 billion to the IMI research programme, which is matched by in kind contributions worth at least another €1 billion from the member companies of EFPIA.
