Neurogenetics Department

Overview

The Neurogenetics Department's primary expertise is in medical genetics, neurogenetics, translational research and cell biology. 

Our mission is to excel in the fields of our expertise to benefit the patient. 

Our objectives are: 

1. To perform high-quality research on: 

             a. identification of disease-associated genes, variants and risk factors, 

             b. understanding the molecular mechanisms leading to pathogenesis and disease, 

             c. contributing towards developing more effective therapies for the patient's benefit. 

2. To offer high-quality molecular diagnostic services in neurogenetic and other hereditary diseases to the Cypriot and other populations. 

3. To offer high-quality postgraduate educational programs through the CING School, internships/exchanges through the Erasmus+ and other equivalent programmes, and introduce young students to the fields of our expertise.
